O.o

Two months running I've had the good old Mormon missionaries knock on my door, and both times they were just knocking around the neighborhood (I almost wrote "knocking up the neighborhood" but that would be kind of wrong!) the way they do, and had no idea that a church member lived there. :D They need to update their map, or something. When I did the missionary thing we had all the local members marked on ours.

On the subjection of missionarying, btw, (and why I'm posting this public) I figured I should let folks know, that if you've ever been curious about what's in this "Mormon Bible" aka. The Book of Mormon, that I can get free copies and would be happy to mail them out to anybody who wants one. :) I can get free Bibles as well (King James version) but I figure the Gideons have that front mostly covered these days. Although they saddened me by switching from the King James to a modern translation. :( None of the modern versions have the poetry of the King James, imho.

Anyhow. There you go. If you want a free Book of Mormon, lemme know. I can ship you one personally, or I can put you into the "referral" system that will have your local missionaries come knock on your door and deliver it.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled plush/art posting.

*hugs back* I was very happy to. :) Honestly that's part of why I brought the free edition along instead of my nice leather-bound. XD (Well, that and it's smaller and thus easier to pack for trips!) I had the thought that maybe you'd want one.

Me too. :) Which reminds me, I really need to find a decent English copy of the Koran. I keep meaning to and then forgetting. *goes to poke about the internet for one*

Looking around, the best translation is probably this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Koran_Interpreted

There's a version that the Saudi government gives away free, but several different sites said that it was a politically slanted version, so I think I'd rather read a scholarly-minded version instead.

http://www.amazon.com/Koran-Interpreted-Translation-J-Arberry/dp/0684825074 It's not too terribly expensive, at least.

I wouldn't mind having a copy... And actually, a copy of pretty much any Bible just for curiosity's sake. I haven't really picked a Bible up since I was a teen, and then I kinda pooped out after Genesis. Partly, I'm curious about bits that you never hear much of, and partly I'm curious what is really said in some sections that (extremely bigoted!) people tend to throw around.

But, to be honest, people knocking on my door for that sends me into small panics. I do *NOT* like strangers coming to my house for anything except postal delivery type stuff. Although, any that are brave enough to come in (despite the 130lb rottweiler) do earn a little respect from me. He's NOT what most people are expecting!

Funny thing, when I did the door-knocking thing most of my companions were scared of dogs, but of course I love 'em. And there's a big difference between a dog barking aggressively and one barking in greeting/excitement. :) I'd go right in and say hi and pet them, when somebody had a dog, usually. I had a HUGE German Shepherd dog, he was still practically a puppy, but full grown, jump up and put his paws on my shoulders once. Ruined my blouse, he was so muddy. But it was adorable! I got my face thoroughly licked. My companion sort of half-screamed and went to run, I think she thought he was attacking me, but he was just being friendly, in a giant-puppy way.

Anyhow, if I hadn't just shipped your yarn, I'd toss in an extra book with it, as it is I can include a copy when I send the pony Loonakit and ears if you like.

Hee, that works ^_^

Dunno if Tech has told you about the recent medical goings-on... But I'm not able to drive much or well right now, and by the time he gets home in the evenings, the post office has usually closed. *Should* be able to get this stuff shipped out Saturday.

*nods* I saw your FA about it. I'm not in any hurry, don't worry.

Being able to journals on there is handy, just to let commissioners know I'm *not!* forgetting their stuff, but rather feeling like I've been hit by a steamroller on some days. Otherwise, someone might get mad and want their money back :(
