A few years ago I decided to get into self-publishing so I did some research. The best piece of advice I got is that this is a long game. You aren't going to make money overnight. But once your story is online it can stay there forever, quietly earning you money without you having to do anymore work on it. In five years, ten years, maybe twenty, it'll still be there available to buy.
