Paint!

I just got a commission for a PYO Windstone. Specifically a lava dragon. So it's something I know I can do, something fairly time consuming but not too intellectual, and I'm getting paid, so if I take paint breaks in between doing costume stuff I don't have to feel guilty. Woot. I've alread got a base coat on it, and I might manage to get the full "molten lava" undercoat done today. I'm taking progress pictures as I go, at the customer's request, and I'll be sharing them here eventually.

In other news, my sewing machine is costing me $30 to get fixed to good as new, and I've put in a bid of $150 on what appears to be a very nice light industrial machine, which does both a zig-zag AND and straight stitch, and that's 100% of my stitching needs right there. It's billed as a leather/vinyl sewing machine, so I'm pretty sure it'll handle velcro. So hopefully I get it.

And just to keep folks updated, I made a "skin" pattern for the fox-dog and the horse heads today. I need to put ears on the wig for the fox-dog, and I think tomorrow I'll get that one furred, maybe. Things are moving along quite nicely, in any case, and I shouldn't have to miss any deadlines.

Although I'm miffed because the m key on this keyboard is having issues, and appears to be dragging the j and k down with it. The usual method of prying the keys off and cleaning the gunk out from under them has failed to fix the problem. I've ordered a new mini keyboard from Newegg. 'Swhat I get for buying the cheapest mini they had, I guess. Hopefully the new one won't be any bigger than this, it didn't give inches, it just indicated its miniatureness, but one of the user comments complained about it being too small, so hopefully I'm good.
