Why, just when I finally decide to take the plunge and join, does everyone get all anal?

Meh, guess they were anal all along and I just never had it directed at me.

But if I wasn't /really/ fond of the Federation, I'd wipe my Jane's entry and quit. As it is I'm not going to go anywhere near the points thing or any warthreads, and I probably won't be adding to the Jane's stuff anytime soon. Meh. I was hoping I could actually set this up to be acceptable, but apparently I lack the background in hard science to evern understand how things ought to work.

The rules are pretty relaxed these days, some of us just like being hardline no matter what interpretations we give them. I could issue a ruleset that only consisted of "No Mangoes", and within 24 hours I'd get reports on how Person X was showing dangerous soft-fruit sympathies.

To be honest, our best bet plotwise is to lead by example. It's one reason I'd love to get cracking on these first-contact stories.
