Free for All Saturday, Week 22 [DW Edition]

[ If you're interested in being a Tuesday-Thursday guest host, you can sign up here. Thanks! ]
↑↑↑ Available dates:
June 3 & 5
June 17 & 19
[June 23-27: Lonely Prompts Week]
July 1 & 3

Hey, y'all! ^.^ Are you ready for this week's Saturday Free for All? There are no themes to follow for prompts or fills. If you've had any ideas this week that didn't really work with Tuesday's or Thursday's posts, today's your chance to prompt 'em. Be free, and have fun! ✎

Just a few rules:
1. No more than five prompts in a row.
2. No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
3. Use the character's full name and the fandom's full name for ease in adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
4. No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here. Unfortunately, DW doesn’t have a cut tag, so use your best judgment when it comes to spoilers.
5. If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
6. If your story has possible triggers, please warn for them in the subject line!

Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt

Are today's prompts not catching your eye? No worries, because we have plenty of older prompts that just might do the trick! You can browse through the comm's calendar archive (here on LJ or here on DW) for themed and Free For All posts, or perhaps check out Sunday posts for Lonely Prompt requests. (Or, you can be like me, and try to save interesting prompts as you see 'em... and then end up with multiple text doc files full of [themes + links + prompts] that you can easily look through and search for keywords.) Multiple fills for one prompt are welcome, by the way! Oh, and you are very likely to find some awesome fills to read as well, and wouldn't it be nice to leave a comment on those lovely little writing distractions? ~_^

We are on AO3! If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3, please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2025 collection.

If you are viewing this post on our Dreamwidth site: please know that fills posted here will not show up as comments on our LiveJournal site, but you are still more than welcome to participate. =)

If you have a Dreamwidth account and would feel more comfortable participating there, please feel free to do so… and spread the word! [community profile] comment_fic

A friendly reminder about our posting schedule: Themed posts for new prompts go up on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Saturdays are a Free for All day for new prompts of any flavor. Sundays are for showing Lonely Prompts some love, whether by requesting for someone to adopt them or by sharing any fills that you've recently completed.

Thursday Recs

Grabbing this Thursday with both hands, so it doesn't get away from me.

Do you have a rec for this week? Just reply to this post with something queer or queer-adjacent (such as, soap made by a queer person that isn't necessarily queer themed) that you'd, well, recommend. Self-recs are welcome, as are recs for fandom-related content!

Or have you tried something that's been recced here? Do you have your own report to share about it? I'd love to hear about it!

Forever Knight: FKFicFest 2025 (now releasing)

FK Fic Fest 2025

[community profile] fkficfest | FKFicFest A03 Collection

[community profile] fkficfest '25 is releasing!

We have 12 all-new Forever Knight fanfic stories this year. We're releasing one per day as long as they last to savor the goodness. So far, 4 are available to read! We're looking forward to 8 more!

Follow the reveals as they happen on our '25 AO3 sub-collection or DW community.

Do you remember Forever Knight (1992-1996) on CBS's "Crimetime After Primetime?" In local syndication? On the USA cable network or the original Sci-Fi Channel? DVDs? Streaming on Crackle, AppleTV, or Amazon? We still love our favorite vampire homicide cop and all his friends, enemies, lovers, coworkers, and car. Come play with us!

Thursday ✎ Drabbles [DW]

Hi, everyone! Hope you're having a good week! :3 It's a new day that starts with "T," which means it's time for a new theme.

Today's theme is drabbles. Although prompts can be anything your heart desires, all fills must be exactly 100 words long or a multiple of 100. Feel free to use your choice of word counter to determine your total number of words. We go by the honor system 'round here, so don't worry about anyone checking your math.

Feel free to add specifics to your prompts, like whether you'd prefer a gen fill over something shippy, or if you have a squick or trigger you hope to avoid. Original fiction, fanfiction, and fanfic crossovers are always welcome. ~_^

Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and the fandom's full name
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here. Unfortunately, DW doesn’t have a cut tag, so use your best judgment when it comes to spoilers.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above-mentioned spoiler cut.

Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt

Some examples to get things started...
+ any TV or movie fandom, any close/old friends (gen please), rock paper scissors
+ Batman/DCU (any 'verse), any Gotham resident (+/ any), traffic jam
+ author's choice, anyone who works too much (+/ any), only going home to sleep

We are on AO3! If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3, please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2025 collection. See further notes on this option here.

Not feeling any of today’s prompts? You can use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community. Fret not, DW members; we are working on a way to search through old entries for prompts for you! As of right now, the best way to search for a lonely prompt on DW is to search the community’s archive, which can be found [[HERE]].

While the use of LJ's advanced search and DW’s archive are options, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching in the future.

As a friendly reminder about our schedule, Lonely Prompts and sharing completed fills are encouraged on Sundays, while new themes and prompts are posted on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Saturdays are a Free for All day. We'll share our posts on DW and LJ for everyone's convenience. Keep an eye out for notifications!

Tuesday ✎ 5-Word Prompts [DW]

Hello out there, and welcome to [community profile] comment_fic! ^_^ I'm [personal profile] creepy_shetan, your (sudden?) host for this week.

Today's theme is 5-word prompts. Pretty self-explanatory, right? A phrase, a question, a line of dialogue, a list of words -- as long as the total is five, feel free to prompt it!

If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above-mentioned spoiler cut.

Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt

Some examples to get things started...
+ any video game fandom, any + any friendly in-universe creature, happy to see you, too!
+ Star Wars, anyone who isn't Force sensitive (+/ any), as luck would have it
+ author's choice, any +/ any, "Isn't that against the [rules/law]?"

We are on AO3! If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3, please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2025 collection. See further notes on this option here.
