I made egg noodles last night, and was amused to find that our kinda hippie "pasture raised" eggs came with a "this month's newsletter" insert which included a Bird of the Month, and an article about how to "holiday like a hen", among other things. Very silly, but I guess meant to reaffirm the hope one has when paying the premium for those sorts of eggs, that the animals really are living good lives. (We actually get eggs from a friend most of the time, so like, we could go meet the chickens, they're definitely doing fine, but that happens at the whim of the birds and said friend's own egg useage, so sometimes we have to buy.)

Can you imagine being the person whose job it is to write an chicken-themed monthly newsletter? :D

I wrote an alibi paragraph yesterday, on Star Tiger, my patreon commission, but today I've already written a few hundred words because I was reminded that I also need to do the Jingleclop MLP porn exchange. I'd forgotten about signing up, but the assignment in my inbox was a bit of a reminder. Amusingly, their requested fetish was realistic pregnancy. Given I've *been* pregnant, I figure I can deliver!

How are you all doing with your writing today?

I love the idea of a chicken-themed newsletter. I'm vegan now (no judgement intended), but when I was a teen, we had ducks, and those eggs were the best I ever had--enormous, sometimes with up to three yolks, and absolutely delightful for baking or scrambling or whatever else we could use them for or in. Your pasture raised eggs reminded me...

Also, yay for productivity! And yay for requests you feel confident fulfilling! :-)

I wrote an 878-word, purely pornographic White Collar story for another fill on my bingo card.

I am suddenly reminded of a moment I had early in undergrad. Walking along the main part of campus, I overheard one student say to another in all earnestness, "But the problem is, I'm terrified of chickens!" This was not a thing you'd expect to hear in the middle of most university campuses, but my university offered an intensive agricultural diploma and housed the province's veterinary college along with your standard liberal arts and science fare, so there were absolutely horses, cows and yes, chickens that a student might encounter on a daily basis. I bet they made it into newsletters occasionally!

More typing up from the end of Couch to 80k and its aftermath - I keep thinking I'm close to done putting it all on the computer and then I find more. Also turned a bit of discussion about the subjects yesterday and why I'm not including any sort of literature course on the curriculum into some notes on the contents of the library (fiction section: very small) and more about the world view of those in charge of the school.

1300 words on the story I was working on yesterday, which brought me up to the entirety of what I already knew. Now I need to decide what kind of ending I want for it.

Also, I cleaned up, titled, and published a vignette that's been in WIP folder since September.

Day 5 - Exactly 100 words on the HLH piece, and a possible poem for the Tomorrow prompt for Fan Flashworks. Need to look at the other piece I wrote using the same source and see if it is too similar, and where it was I posted the other one.

Wrote a short paragraph for the fic and did some editing. Going on travel tomorrow so I will probably miss a few days here. Have a good weekend!

Ha, I think I've bought those same hippie eggs!

I got 151 words of editing on Come Undone and 1253 words on [community profile] comment_fic that I didn't expect to write.

A little over 500 words of the novel for me, plus I wrote about a notebook page of this sci-fi story I call the Ambush Project here because it ambushed me in the summer/autumn and started insisting I write it, though I still don't know a lot of plot details because I'm a character-and-milieu based writer and plots take time to grow.

Also I'd love to write a chicken-themed newsletter, I feel I'd be better qualified for that than for most jobs I've had. (Even though my knowledge of chickens is but superficial. But if I had that job, I'd probably also have the opportunity to get to know them better!)

That chicken newsletter is something! It must be quite special to write it. *g* My mom has chickens she keeps as pets, although the eggs get eaten, of course; I swear that if she were into anything internet-related, she'd be so instagramming and vlogging her darling's adventures... XD
On the 4th, I mainly did some research reading and editing, and can only add 20 new words to my tally. On the 5th, I wrote 2k of nonfic.

I know a guy who's scared of birds, particularly chickens. He didn't go to vet school, but I hear he makes a decent priest.

Me, I once visited a farm where they raise turkeys free-range and even though one of them pecked my silver ring (didn't hit the flesh, just the ring), they sat still when I petted 'em. :)
