Hi!

I'm a newly-wed of 32 who loves fuzzy critters and cute things, but hates pink and fluffy girly things. I don't wear makeup, but I do wear dresses. And kilts and guy's shirts. I steal my husband's shirts sometimes. My most precious possession (if you don't count the cats, which I don't, they own me not the other way around) is my pair of New Rock biker boots with flames on them. I love designing and sewing interesting plushes and costumes, and have managed to turn it into a career. I collect pokemon. I have two cats, three snakes, and one jackal. That's my husband, his "fursona" is a jackal. Mine changes depending on my mood. I'm not too serious about the furry thing, mostly it's the above stuff about liking plushes, costumes, and fuzzy critters. I read books like a maniac and own *almost* every book Mercedes Lackey has ever written. (And that's a LOT of books!)

Oh yeah, and I'm a Mormon. :D

(And if the intended message is "We Mormons aren't so weird after all," I'm not sure I've succeeded there, I'm a total weirdo, but the weird hasn't got much to do with the religion.)

Posting this mostly because the whole "Mormons are normal" campaign kind of makes me giggle, but also because I suspect some of you might actually not know! I don't tend to drag religion into everything, but I'm not ashamed of it or afraid to discuss it either. :) Just do be civil if you have something negative to say, please.

I don't normally say much about my personal life outside of certain filters, because I don't really feel like sharing everything I do with the whole world. Just the way I am, I guess, I'm pretty introverted, and I save public posting for my art, by and large. But sometimes personal life affects my customers, so occasionally I feel I should mention a few things...

I suffer from depression. I've been fighting it on and off since 2005. At the moment what I mostly have is Seasonal Affective Disorder, which means I get horribly depressed during winter. Which is right now, for anybody who hasn't noticed all the snow and rain and cold. :)

That would be part of why I'm currently running not quite two months behind on fursuit commissions, as I'm working now on stuff that was scheduled for December completion. (The other part is that I'm *still* playing catchup from the wedding, which ended up eating nearly three months of my life, as far as productive work goes.) Getting the small stuff done is always a little easier, tails are a nice break from working on larger, more stressful and often more frustrating projects, but I know I'm not always the best at getting larger commissions finished on time, for which I apologize. Some days I look at the massive amount of work piled up for me to do, and all I want is to crawl back into bed and not come out again. I don't post about that very often, because I don't really feel it accomplishes anything to whine to people about how hard and awful my life is.

Mostly I'm posting this to remind everybody, current, future, and potential customers, that I say my completion estimates are just estimates for a reason, and it mostly has to do with this kind of thing. Life happens, and I have days when climbing out of bed is an accomplishment in and of itself, so not a lot of work gets done. And so the work is sometimes late. I try to not miss hard deadlines, but I'm pretty bad about hitting the soft estimates. Anybody reading this who has a hard deadline they need a major project done by, and it's not noted on my website, might want to drop me a line and let me know, btw.

I appreciate the patience of my customers very much, and with spring on the way I hope to be able to pull myself out of my current funk and start getting caught up.

This ends your irregularly scheduled "spark's personal life update."
