My latest magnum opus.
Jun. 22nd, 2020 04:58 pmKelwyn Grayson is just one more faceless runaway on the streets of Tower City. Among elves, gnolls, and dragons, one winged boy fades into the background of life in the Eternal Kingdom. But when he cuts the purse of the handsome were-lion Harun Rashid, he finds himself dragged out of the crowd.
Rather than a cell, however, Harun offers a helping hand to set Kelwyn on the road to a respectable, peaceful life ... if he could just bring himself to stop flirting shamelessly with Harun, keep his sticky fingers to himself, and avoid bringing the wrath of a powerful, mad vampire down on his head.
But even faced with Kelwyn's death -- or undeath -- Harun will not give up on him, and Kelwyn will not give up on finding his way to sharing that peaceful life with Harun. Two men, love, and magic are bound and determined to find their way to their shared dream of a future -- and family.
It's out! Bad cover aside, I am pretty pleased with this. It's not my absolute best work, but it's solid, I think. The story ties together and flows through connected arcs so much better than the "old" Blood and Fire I wrote like 20 years ago. Also, that was straight, and this is hella gay. I consider that an improvement! :D
(It is a complete re-write using a few of the same themes and a loose approximation of the same characters and setting, but not using any of my 20 year old words at all, because I was not good back then. Mostly I just couldn't resist re-using the title, though, because "Blood and Fire" is a great titled for a fire-feline and a vampire who are lovers.)
You can buy it from JMS Books (cheapest option, currently) or from Amazon.
