So today's big event (other than church and all the Sunday usual) was another classical concert. I've never been to a rock concert, but I've been to enough classical music concerts to more than make up for it. Dad is both a high school band and orchestra director and a professional french horn player, so I get the chance to go to a lot of things. This one was the Ogden High Orchestra end of year concert. You'd think that a high school orchestra would be moderately awful, but actually they were amazing! I may be a bit biased, but I think my Dad is a truly great director. I enjoyed to concert a ton, and I almost decided to buy their CD, but in the end I remembered I'm trying to save money so I can afford to splurge while at Boardie Con.

So today's ponderings are on my taste in music. I like some of almost everything. I can't say I like pop, or classical, or country, or whatever. I like music on a song-by-song basis, and sometimes I like songs just for one part. Like I love the Backstreet Boy's "Larger than Life" just because of the flying-high crazy happy laugh at the beginning. There are days when I'm in a good mood and that laugh is exactly how I feel. And I like Smashmouth's "Then the Morning Comes" just for the harmonies on the second chorus. I listen to it, and I skip back to the beginning and listen again after I get through that part sometimes. It's just cool. My CD collection isn't too big, but boy has it got variety. I'd get more, but I'm trying to be frugal. I haven't even bought any books since I decided to go to BC. Ok, so that's like less than a week, but still!

So that's my ramble and day's events for today. Whoo hoo.

I just read over my last couple of entries, and realized I had better follow up on Saturday's entry. There were a couple of things that happened that were just too good not to mention.

First off, at the birthday party for my bro. and sis: The main reason they had a joint party was so it could be co-ed. My sister is a bit guy crazy, and she just turned 16, which in our family is sort of the legal dating age. So, she has a crush on this one guy, and all of her friends know it, and of course he was invited. But then he called and said his work had called him in and he couldn't come. She was so disappointed. Well, they got to the giving presents, and two guys wheel in a dolly with a big wrapped up weird looking thing on it. She tears the paper off, and it's this guy! She got him for her birthday, he he he! I laughed so hard I nearly cried. He's taking her out on a date sometime soon.

The next thing: the wedding. So I get there about halfway through the reception, I wasn't invited to the wedding itself. I congratulated the bride, got some munchies and talked to the few people there I knew, and just when I was about to go home they had the throwing of the bouquet. Well guess who caught it? Yep, me. So I'm supposed to be next. Now, can somebody find me a guy? *grin*

Last fun thing yesterday: Halo! I actually only came in last place once. We had nine of us today, a few less than the usual, we generally fill all 16 slots available, but we had enough to have some fun. I actually made more than one kill on several rounds, which is very good for me, as I've been consistently the one with the least kills every time we play. Who knows, one of these days I might actually bo good at Halo. (I might be better when it's not 1 am. and I'm sleep deprived too. I took a loooooong nap today to catch up.)

So there's the update on Saturday's fun. Whee!
