JJ took me out to dinner, and I had an... interesting time of it. You've all heard the saying about staring into the void and the void stares back. Voids staring is all as it should be, it seems. But one should not gaze onto one's dinner plate and have one's dinner gaze back! Nevertheless this is exactly what my dinner did to me this evening. You see, I made the mistake of ordering something with prawns. Innocent that I was, I assumed that prawns weren't any different than shrimp, and that they would arrive prepared in a smiliar manner, but no. They arrived intact. And they were looking at me. I braved attempting to extract the edible bits, but they weren't really that great, and they were weirding me out with the blank, dead-eyed stare, so I just shoved them over to the side and ate the pasta they came on. It was excellent pasta. And desert was *purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.*

Also! Apologies for forgetting to stick up a Blood Choice update on Tuesday. There's one up now for Thursday though. I'll try and stick to the schedule. Anybody who's actually reading this can feel free to poke me if I don't. http://bladespark.topcities.com/story <--- Click the link! The power of, er... of... of... of birthdayness! The power of birthdayness compells you!

Also, also, I spent my b-day gift card from Keith (thanks!) on a stack of books, including two vampire novels I hadn't read before that looked interesting. It's not often I brave a book by an author I don't know, and this proved why, as the one I was totally unfamiliar with sucked pretty bad, but the other one was actually half decent. (Tanya Huff, she's an okay author.) But if that first one can get into print, then hey, maybe I will publish Blood and Fire, and Blood Choice one of these days. They're not any worse.

And my two peacock Windstones for repainting arrived today! A big male dragon that definitely needs repair work, and a little tiny baby dragon with only one miniscule chip which I may actually keep in the original color. B-day loot is thus: one mini organizing box from sister, $20 from mom, $20 from grandparents, stack of books from Keith, a U-haul move and a marvelous dinner from JJ, and a pair of Windstones from me! And speaking of Windstones, I'm about a third of the way along on my next gryphon, and it's going to be awesome! (Which reminds me. Repainting color suggestions for the male dragon are welcome. Currently he looks like this only beat up.)

That's the B-day report so far. A laid back but generally excellent day.
