I just got back from seeing the Floydian Slips.
It was awesome.
I got a "wtf psycho fan" look from the drummer who also plays Pink in the Wall bits, because he was glad-handing fans, and I was wearing my Hammer Party "uniform" complete with armband and hammer patch, and I went over and did the hammer sign at him. He did it back, but not after a O.o sort of look at me. *grin*
It's really interesting how many musicians it takes to reproduce Floyd's sound. They had two drummers, four guitarists, (two electric, an acoustic, and a bass) a keyboard guy who also had a sound board for all the sampled stuff, and a female vocalist. And at some points all eight of those people were playing/singing at once. Floyd's sound is so rich for a reason, a lot goes into it.
Anyhow, I shall repeat that it was awesome! And that I plan on expanding my costume, and possibly taking a trip to Portland to catch their next concert. They're actually touring, albiet a rather small and tour that gets no further from here than Seattle. And speaking of costume, Tech? At some point I must poke you about an accessory I need for it.
Now I need to go get food and have a shower. I reek. I had a beer spilled on me, and also if you could really get high off of second hand pot smoke I would be so very stoned, but as is, it's merely adding to the smell. Ugh. At least pot doesn't reek as bad as tobacco does.
