Generic advice

I've probably seen a hundred sites like this now. Some are just blogs, some are centered around a book somebody's pushing, and others are written as part of a lecture tour. All of them are supposedly giving advice to entrepreneurs who want to start or are starting a business. But as far as I can tell they're all pretty much useless. Why? Because theyr'e generic. What kind of advice can you give to "somebody starting a business"? Well, if you have no information about what kind of business he's starting, you can't really say much, can you? But people make a living saying "not much" to would-be business owners.

Here's an example of the kind of site I mean. (Though this one is much less buzzword-laden than some I've seen.)

I wonder what the people who follow the sites and buy the books and attend the lectures think they're getting out of it?

Feather madness.

This is a sneak preview of my latest pony project. It is not anywhere near done yet, as I have only made the wing bases and the primaries, and there are lots and lots and lots more feathers on wings than just primary feathers. Anyhow, doing this has given me a much better idea of what it must be like for Melody to make Windstone sculptures, only moreso, because she is more patient and does a lot more detail than I'm doing here. Not to mention that she does the entire critter, not just the wings. I'm only adding wings to a pre-existing pony. And franky making wings is tedious, but doesn't require a lot of skill. Just a lot of patience.

The pony is, by the way, being propped up by the little tubs of two-part epoxy clay that I used to make what I have so far. It's rather awesome stuff!

P.S. This is a secret swap pony! So no mentioning it to anybody on any pony forums, should you happen to frequent such. Not that most of you do, but you know... It's probably going to be late for the swap I'm making it for, but I also suspect that the person getting it probably won't mind much, considering how much sculpted wings like this tend to cost.

Just because I'm contrary like that.

And also because I'm bored and putting off doing any more work.
