Interesting.

I often hear the phrase "enlightened times" which, of course, means that in the modern age we are not barbarians. We've discovered human kindness and compasion, and tolerance, and so on. Well, bellatrys wrote a rather interesting entry a while back, which points out some evidence that these times may not be as enlightened as we think they are.
