We went to the midnight showing of The Hobbit this year, and saw a lot of people in costume. Most of the costumes were not so great, but they were all fun. And I would LOVE to do this again next year. But I wanted to get in on the costume action, so I am working (right now, since with the amount of free time I have this will take all year!) on getting together a dwarf costume.

Here's the plan so far. I have bought a belt, and have found the boots I want, I just have to order them. I've also ordered a nerf axe that I'll be painting and modifying to look more bad-ass. Everything else I'll be making myself, probably. Including the chain mail! (Which might maybe be scale mail because I think we still have some scales sitting around, and why buy chain links when you have scales on hand?)

This is just an idea. I'm NOT doing anything about it yet for sure. But I had the idea, so I thought I'd see what kind of interest there is.

If I made a plush pattern, a proper one with seam allowances and instructions and everything, would you buy one?

About how much would you pay?

And what would you want patterns of?

What about kits, with fabric cut out and ready to go, instead of a pattern?

Let me know!
