Dreaming again
Aug. 20th, 2020 08:42 amI had a pretty great dream. It was a very long, single plotline type dream, in which I was in a sort of Beatles-esque rock band. Though I think it was more inspired by watching That Thing You Do back in college, lol. The lead singer/guitarist who composed most of the music was a total prima donna, certainly.
I played rhythm guitar, though actually in our first number we were all just singing, no instruments, but then I literally thought to myself, "wait, we're a rock band, not a boy band, we need instruments" and in the next number we had them. I wasn't fully aware it was a dream, but it was one of those half-conscious ones where I know I can affect things.
Anyhow, we were performing a concert where every song had these huge, elaborate set pieces. There was one where we were on big boom arms that moved around as we performed, for example. And one with a huge bunch of circus performers, and so on. So it was this big, expensive deal. Though I was talking with the stage manager between sets and she told me as a "don't tell the lead singer" aside that actually a lot of the stuff was re-used from her theater program, like the circus sets and costumes were in a black and red deck of cards theme and actually had come from a performance of Alice in Wonderland.
Anyhow, at the end of the concert, the lead singer actually got in a fist-fight with somebody from the theater because not enough people had come to the show, and I don't even think it was a money thing, I think it was his ego, like too few folks had seen his magnificence?
I had one song where I sang lead, though, that I'd composed myself. I remember being kind of conscious of my voice, that it was so high, but then reassuring myself that in rock music, super high tenors are fine. :D
Most of the music we did was original, and my dreaming mind seems to have actually come up with some tunes and lyrics, especially for "my" song, but of course on waking I can't remember any of it.
Our final number was The Time Warp, though. Dunno why. He he he.
