Wow, my brain
Sep. 13th, 2020 08:52 amI had a dream that I was visiting somebody in Dream St. George (It's an established, repeating location in my dreams and not much like real St. George.) And it so happened that I had my snakes with me. In the dream I had Anthony, my actual ball python, but I also had a snake named Mara, who was a kind of Dire Burmese Python. Burmese Pythons are already huge, but Mara was just MASSIVE.
She'd been a little under-fed, though, and was really hungry, but was also napping, so for some reason I put her into a large cardboard box in my closet.
A little bit after that I was going to bed, since I was staying the night, but before I could fall asleep, the place was attacked by a notorious sky pirate. (I can't remember her name, dammit.) We did our best to defend ourselves, and the fight was honestly pretty weird, nobody had normal weapons, it was all like... wasp spray and makeshift nunchucks from things around the house and the pirates had the same sort of thing for some reason?
In the end, though, the pirates won, and I was being held by one of them while the leader searched my room for some specific macguffin. She asked me where it was, and I had a realization.
"In that big cardboard box in the closet", I said.
And when she opened the box, hungry Mara struck out and started trying to eat her.
The other pirates lost their shit and ran off, letting me go, but Mara all wrapped around the pirate sort of blundered into me and I fell over and ended up partially wrapped and trapped. And somehow Anthony got out too, and I was trying to grab him to keep him from being crushed and he bit me a couple of times.
And then the authorities turned up, and managed to get Mara off of the pirate, who'd been half swallowed and was very much the worse for wear, and cart her off to jail.
There was a bit after that about feeding Mara rabbits, and taking Anthony to the vet, and going in search of a newspaper to see if it mentioned me, but that was the basics.
Weird dream. Kinda fun, though!
