I finished ceramics today. I may actually have passed the class. (There was somebody who didn't miss days, and had less work done than I did, gasp!) Anyhow, I now have one tripot, (the other two broke in the raku process. I don't think I made them as sturdy as I should,) one big tentacle teapot, and two little tentacle mugs. For now at least I want to keep the tentacle mugs. They're so cute! But I think I want to get rid of the tripot and the big tentacle teapot. But I don't want to ship the teapot. Urgh. It weighs a ton! Maybe if somebody wanted it, and was willing to pay a LOT of shipping and packing I'd ship it. (To survive shipping, tentacle things need tons of bubble wrap and lots of packing peanuts too, I've concluded, and even that may not be enough. We'll see if a certain tentacle sculpture I've recently sent so packed arrives intact.) Anyhow, is there anybody local that wants a tentacle teapot, extra large, or a small, triangular, non-fucntional mug on little tripod feet with a lizardy tail in metallic raku colors? (You can't put water in the tripot mug. You could in the tentacle teapot, but it's very heavy empty. But it's technically functional.)

There are also four adorable mythical critter cups that have to finish the high fire process before I can take them home. Can't wait to see how they come out! Though I never did finish the big dragon teapot that was to go with them. Which is a shame, it would have been very cool! But I already have one of my own dragons, in the form of an oversized piggy bank, taking up shelf space. I don't really need two. (If anybody local wants that, I'm pondering selling it. It's too good a piece to just give away. And there's that anthro wolf bust too, which I really need to finish painting and then sell one of these days...)

Could I comission you to make a new lid for a little ceramic cookie jar I bought for my mom for Christmas? I didn't really like the original lid, and one of my room mates busted it anyway. I would ship the jar to you of course so you know what you're dealing with. It isn't one of those fancy-shaped cookie jars like Santa Claus or a christmas tree where the star comes off, it's a pretty straight forward jar shape.
Maybe it's too late now the class is over. >^n_n;<

Two things. 1. Yeah, class is over. 2. it is literally impossible to make a new lid for a finished ceramic piece, because of the nature of the drying and firing process. Which sucks, and is the reason my tentacle pot doesn't have a lid. There are rare exceptions to the "impossible" thing, but they are rare, and I'm betting you anything your cookie jar won't be one of 'em. (Seriously... I can explain the reasons why if you like, but they're long and slightly technical to the ceramics process.)

Everyone needs a teapot. How else would they make decent tea?
