I'm being told that I need to care that the Davinci Code movie is being banned in some places.

So tell me, why should I? Why should I care that a generic action puzzle move, that's based on a book that is literally almost indistinguishable in plot from any other book by the same author, is banned? (Seriously. You think there are surprising plot twists in this book? Not if you've read anything else by Dan Brown, there aren't.) Oh sure, banning in general gets my goat. It's small minded and stupid and ignorant and annoying, but why should I get more worked up over Dan Brown's "masterpiece" than over the banning of anything else?

I'm tired of hearing about it. It's a not-particularly-accurate, not-particularly-brilliant work of fiction that provided me with a few hour's of entertainment one day. Woo. How ground-breaking.

I roll my eyes at them, thus. *rolls eyes massively*

I don't care. I'm not going to care. For all I know, banning the thing could be a publicity stunt by Mr. Brown. The "controversy" over this thing has certainly made him nice and rich. And no matter how often you tell me that this movie is "encouraging people to question religion" I'm still going to roll my eyes at you. If you need an action movie to tell you to question religion, you've got bigger problems than having said action flick banned in your home country.
