Jun. 15th, 2006 11:47 pmWebnovels are very uncommon. A google search for "webnovel" brings a mere seventeen thousand results, while "webcomic" returns more than five million. This is sad news for me, as I'm never going to have a web comic, and may well write web novels for the rest of my life.
It's sad that there doesn't seem to be any community, or any central listing of webnovels. There are for comics, though in that case there are almost too many listings, but then there are a TON of webcomics out there, good and bad. But I've been poking around for a while now, and I can't find even one directory of serial webnovels. Ah well.
This thought was prompted by the urge to have another character auction. I had some mild success with auctioning off a character appearance in Blood and Fire a few years back, and am really quite pleased, but... the winner was JJ, and the other bidders were all personal friends of mine. It feels weird to put up an auction knowing that the only people interested will be friends. I'd rather if I had an actual fanbase of people whom I didn't know before.
The obvious solution is for you, my friends, to help me build my fan base by sharing the link to Blood and Fire, and other stories with lots of people, right? *grin*
