Just spent around $200 getting fur fabric and a postal scale. But I actually got some good deals. 6 yards of assorted stuff I really need for projects, including some AMAZING long sparkle fur for the oriental dragon, for $120 from one place, three yards of red mink fur for the same dragon elsewhere for $50, andt three more yards of white seal, which I go through like mad doing random paws and ears and bits, from a fellow fursuiter fur just $39. Add another $30 for the scale and that's... $239. And that'll get me through everything I have booked until October, really. Though I may have to order some more coyote brown for one head, if the stuff I have doesn't work right with the design... We'll see.

Fursuit making is expensive business! But given that I have 70 odd yards of stock fur now, A lot of the time I manage without having to order much. It's nice!

Of course sometime around two weeks from now there will be over 400 yards of fur in the house. Whee! (300 yards special order fox +30 yards regular fox I decided to get wholesale while I'm at it, +70 yards of my current stock. Yay, fur!)

out of curiosity, how many people paid you up front for your group order?

I wonder why not a single person paid for mine up front... I still don't have the money together to order it 'cause it would all be out of pocket.

Do you think you could take over the grey group order?

I wouldn't mind it. *nods*

I think the problem there was that people didn't want to pay up front when they weren't sure what they'd be getting. Whereas here, we all KNEW exactly what the rust fur was like, and ordering it was easy. More rust please! The gray was a lot more trouble.

wonderful, i'll order the sample roll, and send you a yard for samples to send to buyers, then you can take it from there, ok? (that way you won't have to ship me a roll later...)

Sounds great to me! They're doing an actual dye lot in the right color now?

yeah, i have a couple of fiber wads they sent me... it looks great... but only the darker grey matches... and it matches both the grey seal furs nicely, so i'd only order the one.

*nods* Well, it'll be easier to get people if there's just one color at a time anyhow, I think.
