Glee!

Today is being a good day! I just bought a pair of kirins! Mwa ha ha ha! And my interference paints arrived yesterday, so I can paint them in ridiculously vibrant metallics with a second color "flash" that only shows from some angles, if I like. Heeeeee!

Glee! How are you going to paint it?

[identity profile] kainhighwind-dr.livejournal.com 2006-09-28 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
I honestly don't know! *LOL* I like the original colour scheme Melody crafted (and I would of course be keeping it for myself, so... ;) but I might have to give it thought. If I end up with a blue-eyed one later, I might do it in the colours of the ki-rin Summon from FF6.... silver body, green and blue-ish toned mane. Purty...

My gryphon is still unpainted as we speak, so I'm not thinking about the ki-rin just yet. ;D Though I do have one final idea for the gryphon I think. Just gotta find the time to do it. -_-

What's a Ki-Rin? I mean, what sort of a creature is it? It's got horns, so it's a goat of some sort, but it's posed like a horse...

[identity profile] bladespark.livejournal.com 2006-09-28 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Critter out of Chinese mythology, very often called an "oriental unicorn." (Note that it just has one horn in this version, though some do have two.) Modern depictions are almost always deer-like, though older ones can look like all kinds of things. The proper name is Quilin, but a the Japanese version, Kirin, is what's become more common in the US. Also sometimes Kilin, or Ki-rin, ir Ki-lin or... yeah.
