I can hardly believe it! I mean... she's very approachable and nice and all, but I'd figured I fell into the "somewhat annoying" fan category, especially after the con dealer debacle. But apparently not, because one doesn't invite people one finds annoying over for dinner.
For those of you who do not know who Melody Peña is, she is the artist who makes Windstones. She is the creative goddess of my obsession.
Just picture the thing you are a fan of. The thing that you would spend hundreds on if you had money. The thing you obsess the most over. Then picture getting to meet the person responsible for that thing. Think of Trek fans meeting Gene Rodenberry. Picture LOTR movie fans meeting Peter Jackson. Heck, picture one of the more rabid boardies meeting Mariza, for that matter. That is what's going on here.

Now I just have to manage to get JJ's schedule worked out such that I'll be able to get there. *crosses fingers* But come hell or high water, I will take the bus there if I must. (Do buses run from Eugene to Corvalis? Surely they must?!)
