Is there an IRC network out there, other than Nightstar, that is not CRAMMED with total morons?

Augh. I've just been accused of being a price-gouging cheating so-and-so because OMG! $25 for a plush! They're $2 at Wal-Mart!

Bah. Your $2 Wal-Mart crap is owned by five million people already, so you have nothing special, and it'll fall apart after the first month anyhow.

$25 for a HAND-CRAFTED plush is "price-gouging?"

WTF world do these idiots live in?

I've seen the kind of work you do. They're lucky you don't charge twice that.

I am laughing and laughing and laughing at you. Just three seconds before typing up this post, I LEFT furnet, for about the fifth time or so, and I WILL NOT be going back, because I'm tired of being treated like crap.

The guy who says I'm cheating people is on furnet.

The $2 Wal-Mart crap is probably made in a third-world sweatshop. And it's not going to be Dakin or Steiff or Folkmanis or Bladespark quality.

Hmm. I should have said that better. I'm not laughing at you so much as laughing at the irony of your offering me as a solution to my problem the very network that is the source of my problem.

I'm sure there are plenty of good people on furnet, but I'm rather tired of being insulted, belittled, and having people continually press sexual advances on me.

One wonders what fantasy they live in, where hand-crafted, high quality materials are available at Wal-Mart prices.

No kidding. People still pay good money for quality plushes. If all they want is a $2 Wal-mart plush, they can very well drive their pathetic rears over to Wal-mart themselves for one. If they want a hand-crafted, quality plush, they're going to have to pay. And $25 sounds like a good deal.

I think this is a good time to explain to people economies of scale. While Walmart has a low per-item cost, they have a very high overhead. If your customer wishes to help cover the $100M it takes to set up a sweatshop and a distribution chain and an advertising scheme and all the contracts and lawyers and managers and market research agencies and storefronts and so on that it takes to make these plushes at $2 a piece, then I think he's very much entitled to get his plush at $2 (after paying the $100M.) On the other hand, if he just wants the product of all of that initial investment without actually investing anything, he's going to have to pay the higher per-item cost or not buy it at all. Econ 101.

$25 is a great deal for a Hand Crafted, CUSTOM plushie.

I've sat down and did a little figuring. between the cost of fabric an time/skill $25 dollars is a real steal, please don't change your prices.
