Lesson 1 - brushing long fur requires one to get dye all over one's hands, because the tips of the fur just blow around in the breeze from the brush, and won't hold still to get paint on them, so you have to hold cunks of fur in place as you go. My hands are VERY orange just now.

Lesson 2 - I should listen to Lance when he says something, because he was right about the double action being a pain when one is working on fur. I'll get used to it eventually, I'm sure, but I did a rather blotchy job. Happily rubbing it with solvent re-activates the stuff and lets me blend it about with a rag, so the blotches aren't evident. Well, except for where I was trying for a streaky look, which I think I kind of got. But anyhow, solvent is useful stuff, Which leads to...

Lesson 3 - dye solvent is alcohol based. One should NOT try and blow solvent through the brush to clean it, even if it does clean much, much better than water does. You could get high, or possibly drunk off of the aldohol fumes in here right now.

I'm sure there will be more lessons to come as I figure this thing out.
