...crazy Christian fundamentalists shouldn't be denying global warming, they should be embracing it! It's a sign of the end of the world, obvously.

But if you go around expecting fundamentalists to make sense, you're probably going to be surprised a lot.

XD but if they embrace the signs of the world's end, they have to embrace the following conclusion that they won't have anyone to spout thier nonsensical statements to! No more TV appearances! No more frighting people into believing thier version of Christianity! No more critisizing everyone who doesn't believe *exactly* what they believe! They'd actually have to face God and *gasp* look inside themselves and see just how Christian they've been being.

I've heard Christians say that. Things like "This world isn't really important. It was intended to last for a few thousand years, and then Jesus will come and destroy it. So, there's no reason to worry about global warming/pollution/mass extinctions."

It really scares me.

Yeah... they don't stop to think that a thousand years ago people were certain Jesus was coming then. Heck, they ignore their own scriptures, which say that no man knows the time of His coming. We're supposed to prepare spiritually as though He were coming tomorrow, but plan physically as though he were coming thousands of years from now.

As a sign of the end of the world, they should be happy and secure in their rightness and ability to ascend to heaven / be raptured. Some are quite happy and are encouraging the end of the world to appear so they can go to heaven.

I'm more inclined to say that a man-made bringing about of the End Times would probably violate the idea of "know not the hour or the time when the master returns", and would likely invite the Wrath of G-d, but that's me.

It never says it outright, but if you read the parable of the ten virgins, it makes it pretty clear, at least to me.

Though I suppose, given that it's a parable, there are other ways to read it.
