Halleluja!
May. 8th, 2007 07:09 pmAfter a more than two year long battle with formats and drives and direct cable connections, I have finally rescued my literature from my old laptop! (And I might note that I had nearly 4 megs of text. Written by me. Entirely consisting of fiction, mostly fantasy fiction, mostly in finished form, though not quite polished enough for publication. Whee!)
So now that I have no use for it, anybody want a Toshiba Satelite Pro 410CDT in theoretically working condition? *grin*

Date: 2007-05-09 03:22 am (UTC)I don't know the age of the thing. It's got a Pentium I in it and runs Windows 98, although only just. I don't know the exact specs on it. Hard drive is fine. CD drive is read only, but works fine. Floppy drive is, er... erratic, shall we say. It may work, it may not, it may read perfectly good disks as unformatted, it may have glitches and errors when trying to save to a disk. Buggy. The monitor is sometimes okay, and sometimes not. It gets purple lines all over it at times, usually not bad, you can still use it, but sometimes very bad. Shutting it down and letting it sit for a while before rebooting generally fixes that though.
It gives errors on startup sometimes. I've no idea what they mean.
Um... what else? Mouse nipple thingy has lost the rubber cover. It makes a weird beep when you shut the lid sometimes.
Other than that, runs great! *grin*
