Good times were had by all.
Nov. 17th, 2003 10:25 pmFor once our ward had a Monday night activity that was actually a lot of fun. And for a good cause and all that too.
We had a charity service auction. A number of people from the ward (church group) donated services, stuff like cooking dinner and washing cars, or teaching a dance lessonk, whatever. I donated a portrait sitting. We all bid in cans of food, said cans to be then donated to the food bank.
Some stuff got a lot. The golf and dinner thing went for a ridiculous ammount, but it included an actual gift certificate for dinner at a really nice place. Most things were going for 10-20 cans of food. My portrait went for 44, and was actually so hotly bid on that I ended up donating a second one too, for the same price.
Also, I bid on some stuff and won a dinner for two. No idea who I'll bring to that one. *grin* Feel like having a home-cooked meal while you're here, Bob? And then I won another dinner, the donor of which wasn't there. It didn't say for who or how many, (Which is why I think it was going cheap.) and I'm wondering if it's not a dinner cooked by this guy and eaten /with/ this guy... (Hey, it's a good way to get a date, I guess.) And also on dance lessons. I think I may actually learn how to swing dance... I've always rather stunk at it.
Also... less than four days! heeeeeeee!
