I'm having epic dreams again.
Jul. 7th, 2007 03:38 pmAlso recurring dream themes. Though this one didn't have the Father/son theme which is common to most of my epic dreams. I really wish I could remember more of it. I suspect the chilly temperatures in the room had something to do with it, as the dream was in a frozen arctic setting. I was trying to get somewhere, that was my original concern.
I don't know where, or why, but I was passing through a weird tourist town that lived under an ice dome, and everything was cold and covered in icicles. And from way up above there was this waterfall of warm water that poured down, and everybody thought it was great, so they built a water park around it. I went through the water park (after going through an underground mall, which has been a setting in my dreams before,) and I realized that this warm water had to be coming from somewhere, so I climbed to the highest point I could find and looked up. Well, first I looked down and scared myself silly with how high I was. Fear of heights turns up a lot in my dreams. It's my only serious phobia, so it's probably not surprising that I dream about it a great deal, especially when I'm stressed.
Anyhow, I looked up, and saw that the ice dome was more translucent and bluish in some spots. I thought at first that the spots were sky, but then I saw that the giant waterfall was falling from one of those spots, and I realized that the entire dome was under water, and was melting, because the water had turned warm!
I was trying to rally the town to evacuate it and save the people from certain destruction when I woke up. (Of course nobody wanted to listen to me. They never do!)
Not as epic as some of the dreams I've had, but still pretty interesting.

Date: 2007-07-09 02:56 pm (UTC)Strange, it reminds me of this dream I had about 14 years or so ago (and still remember quite vividly today)... there was this intense blizzard that had actually started forming a thick shell of ice in the sky all over my hometown of the time. Great blocks of it started breaking loose and crushing whatever was below (the ice had to be at least 6 feet thick). It was terrifying as I knew there was nowhere to hide since it was a complete sheet right across the sky. I realised it would be possible to take refuge under the space where a block had fallen already, but getting to one quickly enough was the problem. Don't recall how it ended before I woke up though...
