All of you are no doubt familiar with the Biblical story of the creation of Eve. If you're not, here it is: "And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man."

Many people assume, from this story, that human males have one less rib than human females. This is completely untrue. Male and female both have the same number. But wait! Can this completely literal and truthful account possibly be a lie? No! It cannot be! And indeed, a little further study reveals that the human male is, in fact, missing a bone. The hebrew language, you see, uses "rib" here in the same sense that one might discuss the ribs of a ceiling, or the ribs of tree trunks, or ribs in any structural, supportive sense, because hebrew lacks a word for the "rib" actually meant in this story. Specifically, the hebrew language lacks the word "baculum".

So now you know why human males are missing that most useful bone, found in most male mammals.

*dies laughing, goes straight to hell*

Edit: I should add that I did not make this story up. There are real scholars and historians who believe this is the genuine original intended meaning of the story.
