Workplace blues and weird weddings.
Jun. 8th, 2002 02:21 pmSo, what to ramble on about today? I'm feeling a bit more upbeat today, possibly because it's Saturday and I don't have to go to work. I don't hate my job, it's one of the better jobs I've had, but it is starting to get harder to motivate myself to go. I'm working through the summer so I will not only have enough saved to get through the following school year without having to work, but also have enough money to make a little nest egg that I can invest somewhere and start earning some interest on it. The problem is that I now have the fundage I need for the school year, and it's really hard to motivate myself to work for the extra now that I have what I absolutely need. Yeah, I'm a lazy bum all right. So far I'm sticking with it, but I may just quit around Boardie Con. It'll save me trying to get the days off... Though they're pretty good about that usually.
Over in #crfh today they're discussing the subject of boardie weddings. I find the whole thing a bit odd. I want to know who was the first one to say, "let's get virtually married, shall we?" And what exactly does it entail? Do you have a honeymoon? (And if you do, what do you do on it?) I don't know if it's a bad thing or a good thing... but it's definitely a weird thing. Then again, I usually say that weird is good. I'm just imagining trying to tell my real life husband (on that far future day) "Well, honey, actually I was married over the internet before, but that doesn't really count..."
And everyone at #crfh seems to be trying to get Cajun and I married off. I find that a bit odd too. We get slightly cuddle happy, (ok, more than slightly, but still...) and they're all ready to walk us down the aisle. And two of them were vying for the right to adopt our firstborn child. O_O Weird... I even got a pic of a dragon/fox drawn. *grin* I'm just still trying to decide what I think of all this.
