Slowly working through backlogged projects. Today being Sunday I didn't sew, I painted and ponied. :D I finished my first merpony today! She came out kind of awesome. She was for a swap, and my partner wanted a goldfish pony. I was happy to oblige.

I had a time getting a photo that dealt with the white and orange. Anything that made the detailing on the orange show made the white flat, and anything that wasn't flat white lost all the nice work I put into the orange. :( Here's an assortment of photos. I love her eyes. They're all wide and fish-like. XD

That is awesome, very much so. how long did it take to do the tail alone?

Probably eight hours or so, spread out across several days to give things time to dry in between steps.

Where do you order yours? :) I like the effect and it seems pretty sturdy (i have a big problem with thin structures breaking.)

I get it from www.avesstudio.com they seem to be the cheapest source. Though I've also bought it from tapplastics before, it's called "magic sculpt" there, but it's the same stuff.

And it's REALLY sturdy. Way moreso than any other clay type thing I've worked with.

Cool. As is most of the pony stuff that I've seen from you. I'm looking forward to seeing what other pony stuff you come up with in the future.

what kind of paint do you use? i have four ponies waiting to be turned into apocalypse pony, but i haven't been able to find the right medium. (i'm sure you've gone over this, but today is the first time i've checked out your journal lol)

and the tail looks *amazing*!

Plain old acrylics. I use a mixture of craft acrylics like you can get at any craft store and Reaper brand miniatures painting acrylics, mostly just because I have a set so I might as well.
