I take it back. Webooks is a load of crap, run by people who have somehow blundered into attracting a lot of good writers, but are themselves idiots.

Screw 'em.

Is there another option to publish your work other than the tedious sending out of cover letters to publishers?

Not one that pays me for it. I could publish with a vanity press, but they wouldn't edit my work, and they wouldn't get my work in bookstores, they'd just print up a bunch of books and send me a couple, and sort of pretend to be trying to sell the rest.

Or I could self-publish, and while that's less of a rip off, in that case they still wouldn't edit, and they'd print up a bunch of books and send me all of them, and I'd be on my own from there on out.

And both of those options cost $$$$$$$

I found out that they have "invisible rules." I got a post deleted when it was 100% within the written rules of their site, but a moderator didn't like it, so *poof* it was gone.

And this is apparently a very common, ongoing thing on their forums. I wonder if they're puzzled about why their forums are kind of dead compared to the number of people active on their site?
