Green and growing
Jun. 27th, 2002 10:28 pmToday what did I do? I worked as usual, yippy skippy. I'll spare you the exciting events of my workday and ramble about something else entirely, how's that?
So, to thusly ramble, have I ever mentioned I have a windowsill garden? The store was having a sale on these cute little windowsill garden kits one day and I decided my room needed something alive in it besides spiders. (I don't mind the spiders, but they are neither cuddly nor decorative.) The choices I had were miniature roses, sunflowers, cacti, kitchen herbs, or lemon aromatic herbs. Well, I knew I would kill roses, I just have a knack for killing flowers, and neither sunflowers nor cacti appealed to me much, so I got the kitchen herbs, and then just for fun decided to get the lemon herbs too.
So with three plants in each set I now have six cute little pots sitting on my windowsill. They all sprouted, and none of them have died yet, though the basil is looking a tiny bit wilted. It will probably be a month or two before any of them are big enough to harvest, but I'm rather looking forward to having fresh herbs for those rare occasions when I actually cook something, and also to making my own lemon tea.
Why did I decide to ramble on about my plants? Well, frankly, watching plants grow is about as much excitement as I get these days. (Other than fantasizing about defenestrating my scanner at work, but you've heard enough about that lately.)
