Well, Fluttershy ended. $822. Which at least bumps it up over minimum wage for my sewing time, though without taking into account all the time I've spent taking photos, posting, advertising, etc. But eh. Decent, in any case.

Oh, and to those of you who kept insisting, over and over, that I would make thousands off of this... I really hope that someday there's something seemingly impossible that you want very badly, and people around you tell you that it is possible, and you're going to get it, and then in the end you don't, so you know exactly how I feel right now. So very many people said it that despite all my arguing, I'd almost started to believe it really could happen. Well, it didn't. And so now instead of being happy I got what I first reasonably expected, I'm sad because I didn't get what I was lead to hope for.

The Disney ending DOESN'T always happen out here in the real world, and when you go "Oh don't be so negative, I'm sure you'll get what you want" or "You're bound to get it, you deserve it" you're not actually doing anybody any favors. You're just setting them up to crash harder by making them expect things that aren't by any means guaranteed. It's the exception, not the rule, for people to get what they deserve.

Oh, and next time you want to tell me I deserve thousands, have the fricking money in your hand and be willing to spend the thousands yourself, otherwise shut up.

Anyhow, I'll leave it at that and not rant on any more. I am fairly satisfied with this result, but I will NOT be doing any more pre-mades for a very long time, I have too much else on my plate, and it's really not worth the bother if I'm not going to make any more money than a regular commission would bring in.

I'm glad it brought in as much as it did for you anyway, and broke past the minimum wage barrier for your time. It really is incredible work. :) Sorry that it didn't make more, and I can sympathize with the frustration. People really do mean well, but sometimes messages of 'oh it'll be fine, your fears are totally baseless' really are not nearly as helpful as they seem to think. ^^;

Really?
REALLY?

You're pissed off and bashing the people who were kind, and supportive and encouraging you? You're wishing terrible things on the people who wanted nothing more then to lift your spirits?

REALLY?

So because we've seen numerous plush go for thousands, and think your plush making skills are equal to that and TOLD you as much, WE are the bad guys?

What should we have said? "oh, someone might buy it." "I guess someone might like that. Maybe." "Don't bother, you suck."?

Don't get upset at your **fans** and **friends** for doing what **FANS** and **FRIENDS** do.

If you don't want any of those, then keep up the good work. Because you just told everyone today that unless we're giving you money, we're not worth your time, and you don't want to hear anything we have to say.. even if it's our efforts to be encouraging.

So.. yeah. Congrats. I'll let the door hit me on the way out.

Geez. Way to make this into a huge drama fest. If you're THAT sensitive that I can't express my feelings without you flipping out, then you're VERY welcome to the door, here, I'll help you find it.

Oh, and while I'm at it, FRIENDS don't lie to you to make you feel better, friends tell you the TRUTH even when it's hard. There's nothing to "lift your spirits" about getting a LIE shoved down your throat.

And actually while I'm thinking about your nonsense, I'd like to address "You're wishing terrible things on the people who wanted nothing more then to lift your spirits?"

I'm wishing for EXACTLY WHAT THEY DID TO ME to happen to them. So which is it, is it a terrible thing, or is it something nice that my fans were so kind as to do to me as a favor? Because if all they were doing was "lifting" my sprits, why is it terrible of me to wish that their spirits get lifted the same way?

Too bad you can't answer that, isn't it? Try some tiny sliver of sympathy, politeness, or understanding next time and maybe we could have a real dialogue about the appropriateness of my post. But attacking me like you have gets you banned, and I think I've said what I need to say here, so we're done. Goodnight.

Have there REALLY been numerous plush go for thousands? Because I've never seen one go for even as much as this one went for- admittedly, I'm in a different market segment than Blade is.

Blade, I'm sorry your auction didn't do better. :( That SUCKS. I wish it had. It's a lovely piece, and I hope the auction winner (and your commissioners) appreciate what a wonderful deal your prices are.

There have been three pony plushes that did. (One was $4k, and two were $2k.) Just three, but of course those three got linked all over the place, with folks going "OMG!" at them, so a lot of people know about them. And I guess some ignorant people who don't know anything else think that's normal for plushes. (Ha!)
