bladesparkI've completely re-vamped my two foot pony pattern. Though now it comes out a little bit taller than two feet (It's about 28 inches) To test it out, I did a Flutterbat! She'll be for sale at Everfree NW, unless somebody makes me an offer I can't refuse before then.
I also took some comparison photos, so you can see how the new pattern looks next to the old one. Sadly the only old pattern plush I haven't shipped out to a customer yet is a Shining Armor, (also for sale at Everfree) so it doesn't show the wings, and the faces would be different too, since he's a colt, but you get the general idea.
The biggest difference is in the fact that the new pattern has an actual neck. Also a waist. It will also have spread wings rather than folded. Sadly I don't have an example of either one here, since Flutterbat has weird wings and Shiny there isn't an alicorn.
Another improvement is in the leg shape. The front legs are much more show accurate in their proportions. I actually am still tweaking the face shape a bit, and the ears as well. I have a Princess Luna I'm working on now who will hopefully look better from the front. Though front view pics are very often wonky no matter what you do.
Another huge improvement, the new plush stands straighter. The old one's back legs just didn't cooperate at all. The new one also has better hocks, and a larger tail base for doing nicer, bigger tails.
And the new plush has a mouth! Fangs not necessarily included.
The new pattern will be a little bit more expensive than the old one, so I'm keeping the old one around to have the slightly cheaper option, but I know plenty of people will be willing to pay the extra $50 or so to get a much more accurate plush. (Old pattern was $240, new one will be $290, I think. Or maybe I'll just round it up to an even $300. Certainly I'd like to get at least that much for the Flutterbat here.)
