I did in fact upload stuff. (Four very short MLP fics to furaffinity.)

I did not write. Oh well. I mean I guess technically I did, I opened up a novel and put down like... 50 words? But at that rate I'll die of old age before it's done.

I sewed things, though! Gods, I'm so close to being done with one huge, awful, wonderful, really fucking late project and please can it be over soon?

Tomorrow I get a day off the goober-child (my toddler) which I am mostly spending going to therapy and running errands, because down time is something parents of toddlers are not actually permitted, but maybe I'll take myself out for thai food while I'm out. I have a hankering for this one thing a local place does where the plate is like 1/4 sliced ginger by weight and it's just SO GOOD.

I... had a really extended period of soul-searching where I needed to figure out if I was going to have kids, and decided no. It's always poignant to encounter folks who have consciously made that decision. I hope you find some time to yourself soon.

I had some soul-searching of my own on the topic. It's something I think more people could stand to *really* think about, and not just assume that "marriage and then kids" is the way all lives go. I do sometimes wonder at the sanity of my choice, but I'm given to understand that eventually it does get less hectic! :3 And I don't regret the side of the issue I came down on. I do sometimes wonder at the other side, (life would certainly be easier right in this moment) but I am fairly certain I'd always have regrets if I'd chosen otherwise.

Yeah, I'm actually really existentially Angry at the fact that having offspring is the assumed default. I almost made a terrible life mistake (or five) because of that. So many people I know have just... let that be an automatic part of their lives, and then regretted it.

I'm glad you don't regret where you are.

I do actually love children, but I don't even remotely have a need to see my own in the world. I appreciate the idea of being a positive influence for friends' kids, but I can't accept the constant responsibility necessary to responsibly raise offspring of my own.

Agreement here; I don't have any particular investment in what choice any given person makes, but apparently VERY STRONG feelings that it should be an informed choice.

(My partner and I have two kids, one at just over three years, one at -1 month. The discussion about if/when took up...most of the decade before j (the elder) arrived.)
