We do. We tell our lives through stories. The problem is that stories wrap up. Their arcs complete. They come to endings. Very neat, tidy, and satisfying endings, even. But so long as we're living them, our lives don't. (And when they do end, well, we no longer need to worry about them, do we?) So all our stories are a little bit wrong.

My therapist wanted me to write a story. She seems kind of fascinated by how much I write and the way I write. But we were talking about this, that in the stories I've written that were on some level about my problems, in those stories the problems get solved in some way, where my real problems often don't. What if, she said, what if you were to face that, and rather than trying to solve the problems, what if you were to work on accepting the fact that you won't, and can't, and will always struggle with those problems? I told her that maybe I should write a different story, then, a story that's about accepting that there's no end, that the struggle goes on.

So I did.

It's also a sequel to Less Than, which some people here seemed to like. :3

P.S. I will be posting another story later today. The thing about me and writing is I do a lot of it. I feel sometimes like asking people to read my writing is like asking people to drink from the firehose. There's too much, it comes out too fast, and I've yet to encounter anybody who could keep up. (Or who wanted to/had the time to spare to, at least.) Sorry, I guess? Read this if you like/have the time, read the thing I'll be posting in a little bit if you like/have the time/want to buy it, that one's one of the published-for-sale ones. I wish everyone had more hours in the day and could read all they like. I'd have more readers, then. :3
