bladesparkI am used to nothing much happening. I am used to the "big" events in my life mostly being entirely inside my own head. I am used to working, chatting a bit, reading or writing a bit, and not having anything else happen. A trip to Portland or a weekend camping has the most energy-intensive thing on my radar for huge chunks of the last decade plus.
Alas, the last few years have not been like that. Well, not entirely "alas," some of it's been good. On the other hand a lot of it has been massively shitty. Either way, holy fuck, life keeps happening at me and I'm soooooooooooooo tired.
Doesn't help that the goober child decided to wake up at four-fucking-thirty am last night. Sigh. I suppose I shouldn't have mentioned that I'd finally managed to get enough sleep. Jinxed myself there.
For the next several days, though, the only things on the to-do list are household chores and planting basil. Mmmbasil. I am really excited for tomato-basil sandwiches and shakshukah and home made pasta sauce and caprese salad and BLTs and....
The whole "interesting times" curse is real, I tell you.
