Write Every Day, December 7th

Today wasn't super productive for me so far, and probably won't be. I know a lot of people get things done on the weekend, but not me! Weekends are generally much less productive, for various reasons. Still, I'm slowly making progress on my Jingleclop fic, and on my various other responsibilities. Wrote an alibi paragraph this afternoon, and maybe I'll get a little time to write more this evening.

I have to "waste" way too much time doing dishes. Why do things not stay clean after you clean them once? :3

I knew we'd be busy with errands (SO MANY ERRANDS---UGH!) this afternoon and evening, so I did a bunch of writing-related work this morning. I finished the crack fic I started yesterday, then edited it and posted it to the fest collection. Then I edited and posted the other two fics I'd written this week. So far, I've got three squares on my bingo card. ;-)

8 Dec: The Yuletide treat was refusing to go anywhere so I've put that aside for now and turned my attention to time travel fic #7 (the final instalment!). 615 words on that today. :-)

Weekends aren't usually my best writing days either, unless I'm already in the swing of things, but even so, today has been better than the last few days, which were (in polite parlance) desultory.

Dec. 7: Had a busy day out and about -- work and friends and friends -- but I was up early enough to write 500 words before any of that started, and I'm calling that a win.

Yeah not too productive here either well not writing wise (I had to get all the final grades in for my classes). got 984 words on Come Undone

Weekends are for sleeping and watching hockey (and travelling back and forth from the hockey which actually takes longer than the hockey, all told). Brought a stylus for my tablet and actually managed to spend most of the train ride in jotting down notes about one of my POV character's motivations, which evolved into a bit of the antagonist's motivations which gave me ideas for a couple of scenes that need to come later in the story. I keep learning more about the antagonist and what makes him tick and hopefully this will all turn into a way to fix the last third or so of the story because right now it is very obvious that I "finished" the story during Nanowrimo many many years ago and "no plot, no problem" is not actually a helpful motto when trying to write a novel that makes sense outside the head of the author.

I lost a good chunk of my weekend to Football. I never used to be into it, but honestly following a sport has turned out to be surprisingly fun.

Day 7: Too sleepy! Only 287 words today. (My weekends are also typically much less productive!)

Oops, I missed yesterday's check-in. But I did write both on the 6th and the 7th. 255 and 198 words of the novel, respectively. On both days I only got to writing in the evening, which is probably why I wrote less than on the days when I could write in the morning.

I'm so glad I've got a dishwasher, but the rest of my home could use staying clean for longer after I've cleaned it!

If I could put absolutely everything in the dishwasher, I'd do better, I suspect, but there's a few things that can't go in, and end up piling up in the sink for ages.

And writing a few words is still making progress!

I made progress on Songfic #2 by swapping in a new song for that particular segment that works much better with the mood involved. And then wrote the daily December Days post.
