My personal life is a minor meltdown today. Not even any real reason for it, I'm just neurotic like that. Whee. I managed to write a good chunk on the Jingleclop fic yesterday, though, and I've done a tiny bit today. Still gotta do more, only two days remaining. Yikes! But it's getting there.

Some days are like that, right? It doesn't have to be major stuff going wrong; sometimes the minor stuff accumulates. Other times, at least for me, my brain just decides that today's the day things are going to feel bigger, even when I know rationally that they aren't. Anyway, whatever the case, I'm hoping you feel better tomorrow and that the words keep coming for you. :-)

I wrote a 680-word Rudolph fanfic today in the writers' club I moderate. It seemed the festive thing to do. ;-)

19 Dec: 1,222 words on the time travel (a little turgid, but hopefully I can fix it in post). I'm about to do some tidying and general household stuff and then might have a go at a Yuletreat (plan is to just bash out a zero draft, if I can), but I have a friend coming over to watch Kdramas in two hours, so we'll see.

Are these going anywhere? No idea. But I'm between projects, and I enjoyed the random noodling.

Sorry to hear about the meltdown! I hope today is much better, but sometimes things can just drain you seemingly without end, or other things happening which suck in a major way. All the sympathies! *hugs* But you got words written, which is totally awesome!

I'm also very sorry to have missed so many days for checking-in. My days have been very intense, not all in a good way - nothing serious, just frustrating and annoying stuff heaping up and lots of things to do. Lots of fun with annoying domestic mechanics and the heating system playing drama queen (although I should say drama king since the furnace is called Jean-Luc), including several days without central heating (at least not consecutively) and two days without hot water for showering) - let's just say our installer might as well get a key to the house at this point. ;oP The furries were taking turns in "who can annoy mummy the most" - yesterday, we took turns in observing the three younger ones for heart or circulation troubles, as they managed to get the raw feeding supplements open and at least one of them ate more than a week's supply, possibly all three of them - they kind of had the cat equivalent of Red Bull with that overdose on taurine, and for a while, they zoomed around like flummies. But thankfully all are fine. (The supplements were in a tightly closed plastic jar inside a cabinet. Seems by now only twist-off lids can still be considered cat safe...) Between having serious sleeping trouble, not helped by a very strong moon, trips to Ikea, the hardware store, and various home improvement stuff, I also tried to get the house clean (not successfully yet) and get things prepared (partly successful), and had additional rehearsals and a larger concert of my choir.
I've caught up a bit on sleep and hope things are going better from now on! The drama queen seems to behave by now *knocks on wood*, the sun is shining after a dreary rain period so hopefully the furries will work of their energy in the garden, and all the major things are taken care of. I hope.

I've written every day from the 12th until today (19th), although most days were just alibi sentences. Even these were around 200 words on all but one day with only 32 words, and one day was 1,4k of nonfic. I'm also missing in the tally on the 10th.

I hear you about the frustrating and annoying things heaping up. I call it the "nibbled to death by ducks" problem. One duck is hardly a threat, and yet if you pile on enough ducks...

We have a cat who chews through bags. He is also a chub and on a diet, so all cat food for any of our cats (they are on various different diets) has to be kept sealed in one of those "vermin proof" containers, because he will chew through anything else.

It is a heroic accomplishment to have written anything through all that! I'll add you to the tally on the missing days. :3

"Nibbled to death by ducks" is an excellent description!

We're not feeding any dry food, but I don't even want to begin to imagine how difficult it'd be to keep that out of their reach! /O\
It's difficult enough to keep them away from the BIRD food (for the wild birds) - I mean, I get the suet balls, but the sunflower seed mix? Viggo, the worst of them, always waits under the bird feeder for any spills he might nibble. As a consequence, we're having sunflowers growing in the oddest spots in the garden.... LOL
How many cats do you have? We have four, three siblings a bit over two, and a female (sadly the last of three siblings) of five, all rescued strays. The miscreant siblings are the cuddliest and most loving of all we ever had, but also the worst handful of breaking and damaging things and getting into stuff. But despite everything I'm grateful that they're all healthy and well, after several cats over the years with more or less serious health issues.

We have two and a half. :3 One tiny, cranky old lady calico we've had for over a decade, one *giant* (he's massively tall and long, he can reach up and put his paws on my desk without even stretching) people-loving chow hound tomcat who wants to be spherical, but through great effort is not. And the "half" is a skinny, elderly stray who we feed and have inside about half the time, and who somebody else is obviously feeding the other half, but he's got a thyroid problem and just is also old as mud, so he doesn't keep on weight well, though I'm sure they feed him plenty too, or he wouldn't go there.

That sounds like an intersting troop - in all senses of the meaning. *g* I hope the half one is going to soldier on well for a long time to come!

A December Days post, and then I decided to put an idea I had to paper, and it turned into about 1.2k of slightly kinky F/F. I explicitly remember saying, when I say down to it "Just write it out. It'll be a nice 500 words and that will be fine, there's no need to feel worried about the length" and, well.

Now to gather enough courage to post it, now that I know the potential recipient said "ooo" about the idea.

Hey, that's great! Best of luck with it. I know publishing things outside your usual comfort zone can be hard, but let's say that F/F kink is usually pretty positively received, in my experience... :D

I hear you. Sometimes there is just build-up from who knows where. I often felt this is why some people reach for tear-jerker films due to needing to get emotion of that type out, even if they don't know why exactly.

As for writing? Me too, oddly enough! I just needed the right exposure to more humble people. Thank you for allowing me yours.
