Write Every Day, December 20th

Yesterday being good meant that of course today had to be horrible. Ugh. The goober child is sick. This means that she can't be fobbed off on a babysitter, (especially not as our usual one is my elderly mother in law, poor lady is still sick from a previous time she had the kid and I didn't see any symptons before dropping her off, more than a month ago.) This means, alas, that I'm missing out on a really awesome holiday party I have been looking forward to all month.

Of course.

On the other hand I am sipping delicious mead, and I finished enough of the Jingleclop fic that I could submit it now, though I've got a few hours left, and I want to add on one more scene at the end. So victory there!

Just...dang it, kid. Why today? Why not tomorrow? Sigh.

Edit: strike most of the above, since as the very last minute I was able to go to the party!!!!! :D Not getting the Jingleclop fic to the final scene I wanted, though. I am too wiped out by the party. Probably will post something about it tomorrow, something crazy happened.

Dec 20: sat down to write an alibi sentence, and the next thing I knew, I had two paragraphs. 300 words, which is not bad for a few stolen minutes before work.

We got out of work early before the holiday break but I think work broke my brain by about 10 am anyway, and then there was Christmas shopping, another errand and a late arrival home so today I only managed to type stuff up from previous days. I did slip in a new line or two about something I'd considered for the scene so at least a couple of the 743 words were new today.

Happily, a last minute miracle meant I could go after all.

The holidays are so busy! But you still managed to get words out, which is awesome!

21 Dec: I typed up the lead-in to porn I wrote yesterday and added a bit more for a total of 1,126 words (including yesterday's). Both characters still fully clothed and vertical -- will try to fix that tomorrow. ;-)

Sorry about the sick child, but how nice that the party worked out after all! I hope she's well again for Christmas. (That catching-bugs-from-kids-you-sit is quite a thing, though. I'm having my two eldest nieces alternatively for an afternoon each week after school since they turned three respectively, and sometimes also together or for a full day during the holidays or so. I kind of could count on catching any bug that went around at kindergarden, school, or after-school-care later on for the last ten years. Now the younger has also entered Gymnasium (grammar school?) which means no more after-school-care where the bugs are bred aplenty, and I haven't been sick since (except for a stomach bug but I got that from somewhere else). Nasal douches every time one of them had been here helped a lot, but couldn't completely prevent it.
I managed to get back into writing mode yesterday (20th), despite the busybusybusy thing, and wrote 384 new words of fic. Not in my usual, easy-flowing way, but good, new, words, so I' definitely not complaining.
