Happy Solstice!

You've already probably seen my good news, so I'll just mention that on the writing front, which is more relevant anyway, I added some more to what's now going to be the second, post-Christmas chapter of my Jingleclop exchange story. That's coming along nicely. Still slow by some standards, but I put down a few hundred words, at least, and might get more.

I'm five hundred words farther into firelight, and I think I'm under three hundred words (and zero scene breaks) from the end of the chapter?

ETA: the scene was two hundred words when I started today, which means I was estimating it would top out at 1K when I left this comment; it's 1.4K, but I am on to chapter seven!

I was planning to work on Bond/Q, but that didn't happen. I did, however, write 95 words of doggerel "poetry" for our holiday card note, so I'm counting that as my writing for the day.

I am terrible at writing to a deadline so I have always been exchange adjacent, a sounding board or beta for others and a happy reader of the results but never a writer of them so absolutely go you for finishing on time and also go you for deciding to expand on it.

Got around to starting the day in the life character sketch. Did 30 minutes and she's barely out of bed and dressed for the morning from the digressions but all of them are bits I'm learning about her so that's ok.

I finished the second spicy advent story with a total of 2355 words and 560 more on Come Undone which is never going to find its ending, I swear.

Alibi sentences today. Not even productive editing, just no word-brain at all, not even on the drive to and from the event. On the otherhand, the event was lovely and the feast excellent. Tomorrow is also taken with social things, so I dunno. But the HLH piece *will* get finished dammit.

Seems I forgot to check in yesterday, but words happened on the 20th, 218 of them on the short story. On the 21st I finally started editing my Yuletide fic, and thankfully it doesn't seem terrible! Trying not to stress about the "upcoming reveals" posts as I'm not done editing yet and I'm pretty sure the first part needs a fair bit of work, though.

We pre-celebrated with my mother-in-law yesterday, who's going away over the holidays like every year, and between catching up on sleep after power-cleaning until the wee hours and our time together, I could only squeeze in some alibi words again, about 200 of them.
