Hello all!

Today I only wrote an alibi sentence. I'm pretty burned out, between the Jingleclop push and just life in general, so I figure getting that much is a win.

Jingleclop stories were posted today. I haven't heard from the person I wrote for, and it seems whoever's writing for me hasn't finished theirs yet. Hopefully both those things will also turn into wins eventually.

Hopefully there are plenty of wins out there for you guys today, too.

Well, everyone talks about how all the unnecessary worldbuilding helps make Tolkien great, so... good job on the colors? :D

Speaking of...I ended up erasing most of what I worked on yesterday in the Bond/Q fic and added 260 words in a new direction. I'll see if that sticks tomorrow. ;-)

Another half hour on the day in the life. I forgot how much magic theory is in this character's everyday life, however she's out of bed and at work so that's something, and I think my explanation of how she gets there makes sense with the way the magic works.

2995 words on Come Undone and the stupid chapter is finally finished but I'm going to have to find a place to break it. This one chapter is like a quarter of the whole story.

Day 22 - 155 words on the HLH piece, all on the phone, which is awkward at this stage in the piece, but it is progress at least. One way or another I will get it finished tomorrow.

Day 22: spent most of the day visiting assorted family members, but did squeeze in some editing and polishing of my Yuletide fic, with a net of 331 words of added feels, and 51 words on my other WIP.

I worked on editing the Yuletide fic. Now the second part is mostly edited, and all I need to do is edit the shorter first part. And uh, maybe see if I can get anyone to beta it this late, since of course I couldn't take care of that sort of thing early...

Alibi sentences may be blessed, they're such a life saver sometimes! *hugs* Also, crossed fingers for both your gift turning up as well as your recipient piping up soon.
Perhaps they're in a different time zone and haven't had occasion to even see the reveals yet, and/or are too busy with holiday preparations to find time to sit down and read. This happened to me every time I participated at a Santa/Yule exchange or so: reveals went up sometime between 4 or 5 a.m. my time, or in the late afternoon on the 24th, at which time Christmas is usually already in full swing for most people in continental Europe. I'm also a slow reader and don't want to gobble my gift down, so-to-say; but I'm always making sure to thank my author as soon as I see my gift, and explain that I'll come back with proper feedback after reading at leisure. But I've also had my shares of exchanges where my recipient took three or more days to come up with a plain "thank you for writing for me", although I've been told they said in other places they really liked their gift.

People are so weird about gifts like that sometimes. I used to do tons of little doodles for friends, and I still do for a list of maybe three people...the ones who always thanked me for them. Nobody else seems to have noticed I stopped either, so I guess they just didn't care that much?

How sad that those didn't even notice you stopped - I imagine they indeed didn't care that much, or probably even didn't really notice - not that this makes it any better.
