Write Every Day, December 31st

Happy New Year, and congrats to everyone who's participated!

Hosting this was not exactly like I'd pictured. Some of that is that it turns out writing encouraging things every day makes me feel like a giant dork, it is not in my main skill set at all. Hopefully I wasn't too weird about it. :3 Some of that is that it also turns out that having gotten used to having my kiddo in school, having her *not* for most of the month just absolutely *ate* my spoons. I'd wanted to chat a lot more about the details of what people were writing, so many of your stories sound so interesting! But many days just commenting at all used up all the social energy I had. Toss in the holidays, and the whole damn household being sick, and everything has been pretty dang draining. Wish I could have done more, but hey, we got through it!

Lots of words were written, lots of projects started, worked on, and many even finished. So go us!

The next year will hopefully be more of the good bits and less of the bad bits, but either way we'll get through that too. Thank you SO much for hosting us this month, particularly given the many challenges you've mentioned here. For my part, your encouragement never felt weird at all, and I enjoyed very much our interactions, brief though they have been. :-)

For Day 31, I had hoped to finish the Bond/Q story, but it seems there's one more scene. Still, I added 1890 words today, which puts me much closer to the anticipated ending. Yay!

I ended the year by writing about 200 words of my short story, writing one of my heroines being super gay about the other heroine, I say that's a good way to end a decade. ♥

And no worries, I didn't find your comments weird or anything, and I know what you mean, it can get awkward always finding supportive things to say without saying the same things over and over again. And yeah, I also always want to talk more about the writing than I end up doing. Well done for managing to host amidst holidays and sickness and do it regularly! And go us, indeed! Happy New Year to you and yours, and thank you so much for hosting December! *\O/* Here's to a satisfying 2020, with WED hopefully helping us all with the writing part of it.
I totally hear you on the feeling like a dork; that was well as having to interact with people every day ate up a LOT of my spoons every time. It's the reason why I've teamed up with sylvanwitch for the hosting, as for her the coding part is stressing, which is easy for me. If you'll think about hosting again (what I hope ;o) ) you might always offer for only two weeks at a time, or ask for somebody to step in if things are getting too demanding.
It's also pretty normal to not being able keeping up with people's progress. We all know this and don't mind - we all only have a limited number of spoons, and sometimes they need to be reserved for our own writing. You're also definitely getting extra credit for hosting during the holidays, plus a child at home, plus being sick/having to care for sick people! *hugs* For what it's worth, your comments never felt dorky or anything but nice and helpful to me, and I had a good time being hosted by you!
Now let me check what days are missing for my final tally for the month. I did write very day, but ever since Solstice the days were just crazy. Sick kitty, later sick humans, family demands, a last-minute pinch hit accepted, written and posted, and two days of working at a home improvement project involving my kitchen thrown in kind of ate up time and spoons like whoa.
I'm still missing on the 23rd although I must have reported in for it. On the 26th and 27th, I wrote and posted the pinch-hit with about 500 and about 1,5k respectively, and for the reminder of the month I wrote non-fic only, between 246 and 1,5k including today (31st). All in all a good writing month for me, despite some things not having happened, and I'm also proud and happy that I exceeded my estimated yearly goal of 200k by 56672 words. Go me! ;o)
