Ending on a high note, I guess?
May. 16th, 2020 09:57 pmThis week has suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked.
On multiple fronts.
Bleh.
But today I got my farm box again, at least. I have already had a salad (with homemade strawberry basalmic vinaigrette!) and some steamed and buttered turnip greens.
I also shared some sugar snap peas with the goober, who likes the peas but won't eat the pods. I put her extra pods in my salad.
About ten minutes after she "finished" her peas I realized that she was talking funny, and it turns out that she had hamster-cheeked all of them, and was just sucking on them. She sucked on them for nearly an hour before finally eating them.
Little weirdo!
Guess she takes after me. :D (Not that I do that specifically, but you know. Weirdos.)
I have SO MUCH salad, most of the farm box this week was salad stuff. A huuuuuge head of lettuce and a massive bag of mixed greens, particularly, as well as the turnips, radishes, etc. I'm honestly not sure I'll get it all eaten, and I'm pondering trying to cook some of the bag of mixed spring greens. Most of the things I know by name found in a bag of mixed greens can be cooked. I mean, you get spinach and beet greens and kale and dandelion greens and all those various cabbagey things. The only thing I worry about is actual lettuces, which strike me as unlikely to cook well. I wish I knew exactly what was in the mix!
