Augh, augh, augh, augh.
May. 28th, 2020 10:02 pmI loathe absolutely every single thing about being an author except the writing the stories.
>.<
In a sane and sensible world that'd be sufficient. You are an author, you write the stories, somebody else does the other things, because the other things require marketers and editors and designers and whatever you call people who know how to write blurbs and so on.
But of course in this world you either have to do all that yourself forever, or you have to do a big chunk of that yourself repeatedly trying to find a publisher who will do it for you, except these days small publishers don't, you still do a lot of it! And if you want a big publisher, you have to get a agent, and gueeeeeeeeeeeeeeess what you have to do to get an agent?!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, all that shit.
Fortunately my husband can at least look at my blurbs for me, so there's that. If he had time to be my full time editor, and I could hire somebody to market, I could totally kill it self-publishing. But he doesn't and I can't, so... Oh well.
Attempt at getting an agent it is.
