So the goober child has finally been making progress with potty-training. This feels amazing since I've spent literally a year and a half hitting a brick wall at every step.

I ended up using a sticker-and-counting reward system (little aspie mini-me was more pleased by the tidy filling in of boxes than she ever was by my attempts to bribe her with candy, lol) and she finally filled her sticker chart today, so I told her we could go get a "surprise toy" at the store. She sometimes watches those unboxing/blind bag opening videos, and likes them.

So anyhow, we donned our masks (hers has dinosaurs on it, and she's mostly very good with it, though she still touches it some) and headed out, and managed to go up and down the toy aisles without her fondling every toy, even.

But then she decided what she wanted, and it's this reversible surprise plush thing. I actually love the design, I'm fascinated by reversible plushes and I have a half-finished reversible plush pattern in a box somewhere, that I really should go back to someday...

Anyhow, got it home, opened it up, and the damn thing is scented.

So now absolutely everything in the house reeks of fake marshmallow scent.

Hah! I used to be a children's church chorister, so I have a *super* high level of tolerance for many of the usual stupid child things, since I don't mind dumb kiddie songs or dumb kiddie noises. But oh my god the smell is so pervasive, aaaaaah!
