Eugh!

Okay, there's one male pony that I don't think I want in my collection, not even for the sake of completeness.

What on earth was Hasbro on with the G2 ponies? I'm fine with the bodies, I actually kinda like the way they did the hooves, but those heads! Those faces! They look like hydrocephalic down syndrome ponies. They look like cheap knock-off "fakies." They look totally idiotic, and not even a little bit like My Little Ponies. I remember seeing a site that basically said "they're skinny and their heads are shaped differently too, why don't people hate flutter ponies?" Dude, no. Flutter ponies are practically identical to regular Earth ponies compared to G2 ponies.

And yet there are people out there who actually like G2s! *shudder* I'll take up collecting ponyvilles before I spend money on a G2. I think if somebody gave me one, unless it was one I could sell for a decent bit, it would get radically customized into something that would allow me to completely re-do the face. (It's honestly a bit of a shame. I really like the body on Princess Silver Swirl, but I'm not sure I could take looking at that face. *shudder*)

Okay, end random rant. But somebody on a pony forum mentioned that "every G2s had boy ponies, how come G3s don't?" and I had to go find the G2 boy and see what he looked like. I'd hoped he'd be less dorky, but he's pretty much the same as the girl mold, really. And I do wish that Hasbro would release some G3 boys. There's no way they wouldn't sell like hotcakes, given how much the G1 boys go for...

(Still no pony icon. I can't think of a good pony to use. Maybe Ice Crystal, given the fact that I suspect he's going to become my "grail" pony, and the last holdout after I've gotten everything else on my list.)
