Christianity and Zen

Today I found a site with a collection of Zen proverbs. Some very interesting things to think about in there. But as I was reading through them, one of them sounded awfully familiar. "Let the dead bury the dead." No author given, it was simply called a "western koan." Well, I had a sneaking suspicion who had said that particular koan, so I went and looked, and sure enogh, there it was! Luke 9:60 "Let the dead bury their dead." The speaker? Christ.

Jesus said something that is now considered a Zen koan.

I am amused!
