So a little bit before noon, the doorbell rings. I am still in bed, and still largely asleep, but the sound managed to penetrate my brain, and I had a little inner dialogue that went like this.

"Doorbell. I should get up and answer it, it's a doorbell."
"Meh, the only people who ring the doorbell are Christen's friends, she can answer it."
"She can't answer it, she's in school."
"Oh. Hey, if she's in school, so are her friends. That means it's somebody else."
"But the only other reason anybody would have to ring the doorbell when nobody but me is home is..."
"Oh, yeah, a delivery person, and the only package I'm expecting right now is..."

I then catapulted out of bed, suddenly very fully awake, and dressed in record time to scurry to the door. There to find a small box on the doorstep. It was addressed to me. And upon opening it, I did indeed find a Windstone figurine! It was indeed, as predicted, chipped a bit, but just in two spots, both of them very small.

Yayness! I wonder how easy it would be to match the paint color and touch it up?

(I need an icon for madly squeeing moments. I post a lot of them...)

Me again... sick of me yet? ;D I've admittedly been eager to know how this figure was going to turn out for you.

I have some advice for paint if you care to take it.

Try Folk Art/Plaid brand metallics (if going for peacock, use #654 Metalic Amethyst, #653 Emerald Green, #656 Blue Sapphire, #668 Plum, and for gold accents #658 Antique and #676 Inca Gold). Some of those colours can be used for the other lines as well. Also, try mixing some together (especially the gold) to get just the right hue). Michael's craft store has this line in stock usually if you need a supplier.

Make sure to basecoat the chipped areas solid black first to give a deep background and seal the break. The metallics will need a few coats to provide good coverage (the metallic particles tend to get pushed around with the brush and make even coats difficult with one stroke). Use a brush-on glaze to finish, since they're smaller areas. Sprays are too hard to control for such a thing.

Good luck!

The advice is very helpful. (Also, why are your comments friends locked on entries that are not friends locked? I was going to comment, and it wouldn't let me.)

*LOL* Ok, so, um, I'm officially a MORON! No come on, say it, it's true.

I have fixed the problem. Thanks for noticing that!

I'm a lousy photographer. You'll get a better idea of what it looks like by looking at the ones on e-bay.

Here (http://cgi.ebay.com/LOT-2-RARE-WINDSTONE-DRAGONS-GREEN-PURPLE-BLUE-EYES_W0QQitemZ6626533767QQcategoryZ35870QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem). It's the purple/blue one.

Wow. Weird. Sound penetrating brain. That's a description I haven't ever heard before. Or experienced while sleeping.

I walked around the Browning Center a lot today and therefore saw the Art building and thought of you. The building will probably always make me think of you, which is good, considering its the coolest building on campus that I've seen so far.
